<body>Sara is the Dysmorphic Diagnostic System (DDS) Network Co-ordinator for the DYSCERNE project. DYSCERNE is a European project which will improve the diagnosis, management and availability of information on rare dysmorphic syndromes. One of the main aims of DYSCERNE is to develop an electronic Dysmorphology Diagnostic System (DDS) which will allow clinicians to submit the medical histories of patients&#8217; with undiagnosed dysmorphic symptoms for review by a panel of expert dysmorphologists, who will provide recommendations and opinions regarding any possible diagnosis and plans for further investigations or management.

Sara graduated from Durham University in 1992 with a BSc (Hons) in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and completed her PhD in Plant Biochemistry at Edinburgh in 1998. After that she worked for a number of years as a postdoctoral researcher in Plant Cell Wall biochemistry in Surrey and Manchester. After taking a short career break in 2004, Sara joined the European Project Office in January 2008.
