Widening Participation

Nowgen has organised various Widening Participation projects in collaboration with faculties from The University of Manchester and The Manchester Museum. These events are held for secondary school pupils and are designed to encourage more students to consider university courses in the future.

At A-level study days, Nowgen offers students an insight into current research in human genetics and describes how this impacts upon healthcare. We also encourage students to look to the future, using practical activities and discussion to stimulate their thinking about the future possibilities in genetic medicine.
