Ruth is based in the European projects office at Nowgen and is the clinical fellow for the DYSCERNE project (establishing a European network of centres of expertise for dysmorphology). Her main responsibility is to provide clinical input to the 2 main facets of the project; developing an electronic diagnostic dysmorphology system and developing guidelines for the management of selected rare dysmorphic syndromes.
Ruth graduated from the University of Manchester in 1997 with her medical degree (MBChB). Her medical background consists of nearly 4 years training in paediatrics and membership with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. This was followed by 5 years training in clinical genetics at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool and she has a certificate of completion of specialist training in clinical genetics. Ruth’s genetics interest in dysmorphology is extended to her MD which is on a rare condition called Ohdo syndrome.
