This project focused on genetics and identity in the first Manchester Science Festival.

An ICM poll commissioned in August 2006 shows how the UK public feels about genetic medicine.

"*Making Humans Better?*":392-making_humans_better
This school-based project encouraged pupils to think about human enhancement. 

"*Photography Competition*":394-photography_competition
The public expressed their views on genetics by submitting photographs in this competition.

"*Artist-in-Residence*":395-artistinresidence
An artist organised innovative workshops to explore genetics with the wider community. 

"*Science Communication Workshops*":419-communication_workshops
Nowgen have run workshops to help scientists communicate with the public more effectively.

"*Focus Groups on Personalised Medicine*":421-pgx_focus_groups 
The public discussed the use of genetic tests to influence the way medicines are prescribed.</body>
