Dr Angela Davies

Angela is responsible for managing Nowgen’s professional training programme in the area of genetic medicine. Her role involves the development and delivery of courses to healthcare and industry professionals and research scientists to match the advancements in technologies and research in genetic medicine.

Angela graduated from The University of Bath in 1998 where she studied Biochemistry and then worked briefly in the Pharmaceutical industry in the area of Lead Generation. She then went on to gain her PhD from The University of Warwick in the area of molecular microbial ecology. Angela then moved into the pharmaceutical industry at AstraZeneca, firstly as a postdoctorate within the area of mammalian protein expression and then as a protein scientist. More recently she worked as a senior research scientist within Biopharma in Drug Development at Renovo.

Angela has been involved with many science communication projects, including science festivals outside of her working career and continues to be interested in this area.
