Reproducible workflows for next generation sequencing analysis

Nowgen successfully hosted their first Reproducible workflows for next generation sequencing analysis professional training course on 17 January 2012.

Researchers from The University of Manchester Faculty of Life Sciences and the School of Computer Science led delegates through a series of workshop sessions. The aim of the course was to explore bioinformatics resources that can aid in the analysis of DNA sequences and allow scientists to create workflows of the steps they have taken. Being able to reproduce the analysis of data provides a way for scientists to share the analysis with collaborators, journal publishers and to repeat their experiments in the future.

Delegates on the course used the Galaxy Project - galaxy.psu.edu/; and the Taverna – www.taverna.org.uk/ and myExperiment – www.myexperiment.org/ projects hosted by the myGrid team at The University of Manchester.
