How to write your visit/ issue report

This video was developed to help students write their visit/issue report for the Salters-Nuffield Advanced Biology (SNAB) approach to Edexcel A-level biology.

It lasts just over 10 minutes and features:

  • Dr John Dunkerton (Principal Examiner for Unit 3, Visit Issue Report)
  • Dr Lisa Melton (News Editor, Nature Biotechnology)
  • Students from Bootham School in York, talking about their experience writing the coursework

It is designed as a stimulus to introduce students to the coursework and it offers lots of guidance to help students develop their plans. The video was created as part of the Nowgen Schools Genomics Programme.

We thank all the contributors for their insights and support in making this film.

We have also written a series of stimulus pieces, particularly with the visit/ issue report in mind. Students might like to read these short pieces that introduce six issues based around the role of genomics research in understanding human health and helping to treat human disease.
